Competitive advantage…
Far from being merely a “lead” group The
Business Exchange offers each member the opportunity
to share ideas, contacts, and referrals. The Business
Exchange is focused on providing not only “leads” but
“introductions” a subtle difference, but one that results in a
70%
increase in the likelihood of closing a sale. In addition
to introductions and referrals, members benefit from
ongoing educational opportunities, think-tank
and focus-group possibilities, quarterly
workshops that help members maximize their
memberships, social/business events, and The BE
Weekly an e-newsletter detailing the activities of the
Business Exchange as well as offering timely content on many
of the issues confronting today’s business people.
Since The Business Exchange is
locally owned and operated, unlike other
franchised referral groups, their members receive hands on
personal service from their group leaders and the home
office. Unlike some of their competition, The Business
Exchange allows its members to visit all their local chapters
and participate in other networking organizations within the
community. |
Vision and values…
The Business
Exchange’s vision is of a business development
organization where all members share a common focus,
purpose and passion for helping each other achieve greater
success in business and in life. This is achieved by focusing
on the inherent value of people and relationships,
desiring to help others, yearning for continual
growth and insight into both our personal and
professional lives and above all else a commitment to
integrity. |
History of The Business Exchange…
The Business Exchange, Northeast
Ohio’s original business development and networking
organization was founded in June of 1989 by Loretta
Kirkwood. After starting an administrative office service
company, Loretta was looking for ways to develop her business
and obtain new customers. One day a close friend told her that
networking is the key to success. After
reading every book and article that she could find on the
topic, she recognized a recurring theme – networking
is about sharing information and forming strategic alliances
and relationships. Loretta decided to form a
group with a clearly defined purpose – SALES!
She grew the group from 6 to 24 people in 6 weeks and called
the group “Lead Exchange.” She was soon turning people away
because of the “no-compete” membership and decided to open up
more chapters. Within a year, Lead Exchange had 8 chapters in
3 different counties. She renamed the company “Business
Exchange”, because members were gaining so much more than
merely referrals from their participation. |
